How CitationGuard handles data at the network level — IP addresses, request logs, and calls made to third-party AI providers on your behalf.
IP Addresses & Request Logs
We log the IP address and basic request metadata (timestamp, endpoint, status code) for every request to our API, for security monitoring and abuse prevention. Logs are retained for 30 days and then automatically deleted. We do not sell or share this data.
Third-Party AI Providers
When you run a scan, CitationGuard sends your configured prompts to the AI engines you've selected (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity) via their official APIs. These providers process the prompt text to generate a response; we do not send your account credentials, payment details, or API keys for other services in that request.

- Vercel — application hosting and edge network
- Supabase — database and authentication
- Groq — AI inference routing
- Upstash — rate limiting (request counts only, no request content)
- Sentry — error monitoring (stack traces, not user data)
Your Controls
You can export or delete your account data at any time from Settings. For network-level data deletion requests beyond standard account deletion, contact ahmedrafat666666666@gmail.com.
